Gibbon
Gibbon
The Gibbon model is a performance planing hull designed to generate a ton speed and flow. The bottom has a slight vee transitioning to a single then deep double concave through the tail. Combined with low entry rocker and tail rocker. The Gibbon produces very little drag making for easy paddling and quick planing. The Gibbon is one of our most versatile boards generating its own speed and projection making less than ideal conditions all around more fun. Although, this design is not to be confused as just a small wave board as it performs really well in clean conditions up into the head + range. If you want to increase your wave counts and still rip off full rail turns, the Gibbon is for you.
The Gibbon should be ridden 6 to 8 inches shorter than your standard short board.
All Locus boards are 100% hand shaped, glassed and finished by Tyler Hopkins in Santa Cruz, California, Using EPS blanks and glassed with bio-based epoxy resin.
